On the afternoon of August 18th, the Online Promotion Meeting of Friendly Exchange between Xuzhou University of Technology and Viborg Region of Russia was successfully held. Representatives of university from both the International Communication Office and the School of International Education (SIE), the Viborg Government, the Viborg Regional Youth Committee, the Viborg Youth Alliance, educational institutions and local media attended the meeting.
Wu Tao, Director of International Communication Office, delivered a welcome speech on behalf of our university. Vasilyev, Chairman of Internal Policy and International Relations Committee of Viborg Regional Municipal Administration Committee, delivered a speech on behalf of Viborg Regional Municipal Council. Dong Liangfeng, secretary of the Party branch of SIE, introduced our university at the meeting. Both sides celebrated the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Sino-Russian Good-Neighborly Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation, and looked forward to taking this opportunity to further strengthen cooperative relations through student exchanges, scientific research cooperation, mutual visits of teachers, international conferences and scholarship programs for international students, and making new contributions to expanding friendly cooperation and exchanges between two countries.
Since 2015 when Xuzhou and Viborg became sister cities, there are cooperation foundations in broad fields such as economy, trade, humanities and education between these two cities. Under the epidemic situation, international exchanges and cooperation are generally facing new challenges and tasks. Under the framework of cooperation between the Xuzhou Municipal Government and Viborg, holding an online exchange promotion meeting will help consolidate and expand the cultural and educational exchanges in various forms and with rich contents between our university and educational institutions in Viborg and other parts of Russia, and will lay a foundation for promoting international cooperation after the epidemic.
